Stage One

Vehicle Arrival
& Dyno Setup

On arrival, the vehicle is carefully positioned and secured on our rolling road dyno using controlled load-rated strapping to ensure complete stability during testing.

Tyre pressures are checked and drivetrain alignment is verified to guarantee accurate and repeatable load application throughout the calibration process.

High-capacity cooling fans are positioned to simulate real-world airflow across the intercooler and radiator system, maintaining consistent intake and coolant temperatures under sustained load.

This controlled setup ensures stable operating conditions and repeatable dyno data before any calibration development begins. All xDrive and AWD vehicles are run on our mechanically linked 4WD dyno.

Stage Two

Full Diagnostics &
Health Assessment

Before any calibration work begins, a comprehensive diagnostic assessment is carried out to verify that the engine and drivetrain are functioning correctly under real-time conditions.

We evaluate:

  • Stored and pending fault codes
  • Boost control response and deviation
  • Fuel rail pressure consistency
  • Injector balance and correction values
  • Exhaust gas temperature modelling
  • DPF status and regeneration data (where applicable)
  • Gearbox adaptation and torque management data (if fitted)

Live data is monitored under controlled load to ensure all critical parameters remain within manufacturer tolerance before performance development starts. If any irregularities are detected, they are addressed prior to calibration.

This stage ensures the vehicle provides a stable and reliable foundation for safe performance enhancement. We will not proceed with calibration if the vehicle is not in a fit state.

Baseline
Dyno Testing

Initial dyno runs are performed to establish a controlled reference point before any changes are made to the calibration.

This baseline highlights any inconsistencies in factory torque modelling. Unlike estimated dashboard figures, dyno testing provides measured data — this is your car's true starting point.

Stage Four

Live Custom
Calibration Development

Using the baseline data collected, calibration development begins. This is not file uploading. Every change is made live, tested immediately, and refined in real time.

We progressively adjust:

  • Torque request and torque limiter strategy
  • Boost control mapping
  • Rail pressure and injection duration
  • Throttle sensitivity
  • Gearbox torque intervention logic (where fitted)

All changes are applied incrementally and tested immediately on the dyno while monitoring exhaust gas modelling, boost deviation, fuel pressure stability and transmission torque handling.

Validation
& Refinement

Multiple validation dyno runs are performed to confirm the calibration is delivering consistent, controlled performance across the full rev range.
