1Scope of Work

All services provided by DC Remapping LTD involve aftermarket software calibration tailored to the individual vehicle at the time of tuning. Results may vary depending on vehicle condition, software version, environmental conditions, and supporting hardware.

2Insurance Declaration

It is the sole responsibility of the customer to notify their motor insurance provider of any vehicle modifications carried out or requested, including ECU or gearbox software changes.

DC Remapping LTD accepts no liability for insurance invalidation, refusal of cover, increased premiums, or rejected claims.

3Emissions-Related Software (Off-Road & Export Use Only)

This section applies to DPF/FAP, EGR, AdBlue (SCR/DEF), GPF/OPF, swirl flap and DTC / fault-code removal, and to any other software that removes, disables, bypasses or masks emissions-control equipment or its monitoring.

This software is supplied strictly for off-road, motorsport, competition or export use only. It is never supplied for use on a vehicle driven on UK public roads.

By requesting or booking any of this work, you confirm and accept that:

• The vehicle will not be used on a UK public road after the work is carried out.
• Removing or rendering inoperative emissions-control equipment on a road-going vehicle is an offence under the Road Vehicles (Construction & Use) Regulations 1986, and the vehicle will not pass an MOT emissions or visual inspection.
• Any fine, penalty, prosecution, MOT failure, enforcement action or vehicle prohibition arising from road use is entirely your responsibility.
• You have decided to have this work carried out on your own instruction and judgement. DC Remapping LTD has not advised or encouraged you to use the vehicle on the road.
• It is your responsibility to notify your insurer. DC Remapping LTD accepts no liability for invalidated cover, refused cover, increased premiums or rejected claims.
• The work may affect any remaining manufacturer or extended warranty on the vehicle.
• If you sell or transfer the vehicle, it is your responsibility to disclose these modifications to the buyer.
• You indemnify DC Remapping LTD, its directors and its employees against any claim, fine, penalty, cost, liability or loss arising from the vehicle being used on a public road after this work.

We reserve the right to decline or stop this work at any time, including on arrival, if we believe the vehicle is intended for road use. Deposit terms in section 19 continue to apply.

Returning the vehicle to its original emissions software is a separate chargeable service. No refund is given on the original work.

4No Guarantee of Subjective Outcome

While we aim to achieve the best possible performance and drivability, no guarantee is given regarding subjective impressions such as “feel”, responsiveness, smoothness, or perceived performance increase.

5Dashboard Displays & Vehicle Indicators

Vehicle dashboard power, torque, or performance displays are derived estimates and may not reflect true engine output following custom ECU or gearbox calibration. These displays do not dynamically rescale and must not be relied upon as evidence of performance.

6Calibration Methodology

DC Remapping LTD uses proven, professional tuning methods, which may include managing torque control strategies within the ECU prior to gearbox software installation.

The order of ECU and gearbox calibration does not invalidate the service and does not constitute a defect.

7xHP Gearbox Software

Where xHP gearbox software is installed:

• Installation may be carried out using DC Remapping LTD authorised dealer account
• Customer devices or apps may not display the gearbox map as active, despite successful installation
• Dealer-installed xHP software remains fully functional regardless of app display status
• Removal or alteration of xHP software requires the vehicle to be physically present

DC Remapping LTD accepts no liability for third-party app behaviour or display limitations.

8Software Updates, Recalls & Data Loss

Manufacturer updates, recalls, dealer diagnostics, or ECU/TCU security updates may overwrite aftermarket software.

If software is removed or overwritten for any reason, reinstallation will be classed as a new service at full cost.

9Health Checks, Diagnostics & Time Estimates

Quoted time windows are estimates only. Actual time spent may vary depending on vehicle condition, diagnostics required, or processes such as DPF regeneration.

Diagnostics performed are limited to the scope required for the requested service and do not constitute a full mechanical inspection. DC Remapping LTD is not responsible for identifying unrelated, hidden, or latent faults.

Shorter or longer appointment times do not indicate incomplete work.

10Road Testing & Mileage

The customer acknowledges and agrees that vehicle mileage may increase as a result of dyno testing, calibration, data logging, and authorised road testing. Any mileage increase does not constitute misuse of the vehicle.

11Travel & Location

Customers choose to travel to DC Remapping LTD at their own discretion. Distance travelled does not form part of any refund, remedy, repeat performance, or compensation obligation.

12Rectification, Repeat Performance & Refunds

If a concern is raised following service:

• DC Remapping LTD must be given the opportunity to inspect the vehicle
• Any repeat performance or rectification requires the vehicle to be returned to our premises

Refunds (partial or full) will only be considered once all installed software is removed and the vehicle is returned to original stock. No refunds will be issued while aftermarket software remains installed.

13No Third-Party Intervention

DC Remapping LTD does not permit third-party workshops to alter, remove, or verify our software on our behalf. Doing so may void any entitlement to refund, repeat performance, or further support.

14Consumer Rights

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory consumer rights. However, where a remedy is offered, it will be provided in a reasonable manner consistent with the nature of the service, including the requirement for the vehicle to be returned for inspection or reversal of work.

15Acceptance of Terms

By booking an appointment and/or proceeding with work, the customer confirms they have read, understood, and accepted these Booking Terms & Conditions in full, including the non-refundable deposit policy.

16Governing Law

These terms are governed by and interpreted in accordance with UK law.

17Vehicle Condition, Warranty & Responsibility

The customer is responsible for all past and future vehicle maintenance. While diagnostics and checks are carried out where appropriate, not all faults can be identified.

Internal engine, turbocharger, clutch, and gearbox faults are unknown to us and are therefore assumed to be in good working order unless stated otherwise.

It is the customer’s responsibility to present a vehicle in suitable condition. If faults are discovered during assessment, DC Remapping LTD reserves the right to stop work and charge for time spent. The customer is responsible for the cost of any component that fails during or after the tuning process.

18Presenting Your Vehicle for Dyno Tuning

Vehicles must arrive in a roadworthy condition unless otherwise agreed. Requirements include:

• Tyres with a minimum of 1.6mm tread depth, correct pressures, and no damage
• No fluid leaks
• Secure bodywork and undertrays
• Vehicles must not be excessively lowered from factory specification without prior approval

Any tyre failure or damage during dyno tuning is the responsibility of the vehicle owner.

19Booking Deposits

Deposits are taken to secure your booking and cover preparation and reserved dyno time. You can reschedule free of charge with at least 48 hours’ notice, your deposit simply transfers to the new date. Deposits are non-refundable and will be forfeited if any of the following occur:

• Failure to attend the booking
• Arrival more than 15 minutes late
• Cancelling, or moving the booking with less than 48 hours’ notice
• Presenting a vehicle unfit for tuning or dyno testing
• Arriving with undisclosed modifications

20Disclosure of Previous Tuning

You must accurately declare whether your vehicle has previously been tuned or modified from factory ECU settings. If unsure, you must declare “Not Sure”. If your vehicle has already been tuned and you are seeking a custom calibration, you must contact us before booking.

21On Arrival, Undisclosed Tuning

If the vehicle arrives and is found to have been previously tuned without disclosure:

• DC Remapping LTD reserves the right to cancel or amend the service
• If you choose not to proceed after assessment or initial dyno runs, a non-refundable £150 fee will apply

This applies even if you were unsure or believed the vehicle to be standard.

22Proceeding With Retuning

If prior tuning is identified and improvements can be made:

• Work will proceed only with your agreement
• The originally quoted tuning rate will apply
• This includes all dyno time, diagnostics, calibration, and final mapping

23ECU Unlocking (Bench Service)

Some vehicles, typically BMW and Audi models registered from mid-2020 onwards, have a factory-locked ECU that must be unlocked before it can be tuned. Where this applies you choose one of two routes at the time of booking, and the cost is added to the price shown:

• Magic unlock, in-house, same day. Carried out in-house on our own bench while your car is with us. On a BMW or Alpina this is £100 inc VAT added to a tuning booking, or £249 as an unlock on its own, and your appointment stays its normal length — these ECUs are now quick to open on the bench. On an Audi, VW, SEAT, Skoda, Cupra, Porsche or Bentley it is £449 inc VAT and your appointment becomes a 4-hour half-day. Either way you drive away the same day. This is a glitch-based method. Following a Magic unlock, every BMW and Alpina ECU we unlock — Bosch MD1CP032, MD1CS001, MG1CS024, MG1CS049 and MG1CS201 — is left open to any standard OBD tool. On the other makes the unit can only be read and written with the Flex tool afterwards; other OBD tools will not work with it, and the Autotuner route is the one that leaves those ECUs fully open. We confirm which applies to your ECU before you book.
• Autotuner unlock, £399 inc VAT, 3–4 working days. Offered on Audi, VW, SEAT, Skoda, Cupra, Porsche and Bentley only — on a BMW or Alpina the bench unlock is quicker and cheaper, so we do not send those away. The ECU is removed and sent away to be unlocked. Your vehicle remains with us for the duration and the tuning is carried out once the ECU is returned and refitted. Turnaround is an estimate, not a guarantee, and can be affected by postage and third-party workload. Once unlocked by this route the ECU is accessible to any standard OBD tool for future work, not just ours.

Your £50 deposit is unchanged either way. The appointment you book on the Autotuner route is the drop-off; we confirm the tuning date once the ECU is back.

Unlocking is offered both as part of a tuning or software booking and on its own. Standalone unlocking is priced separately and is only offered where we can leave the ECU usable with your chosen tuner, we confirm that for your exact ECU before you book.

By booking a service that includes ECU unlocking, you acknowledge and accept the following:

• Our unlocking success rate is 100% to date — every ECU we have unlocked has come through the process. Unlocking remains delicate work that carries an inherent risk, however, and we cannot guarantee that no ECU will ever fail.
• If an ECU fails during unlocking, DC Remapping LTD will supply and code a replacement unit of equivalent specification. We may source that unit new, reconditioned or used at our discretion, provided it restores the vehicle to full working order. Our liability is limited to that unit and its coding.
• Where a vehicle’s replacement ECU cost is materially higher than normal, we will tell you before you book and confirm the position in writing.
• That cover is limited to the ECU and its coding only. We do not cover hire or courtesy vehicles, recovery, travel, loss of earnings, missed appointments, consequential losses or any other associated costs.
• Replacement may take additional time depending on parts availability, and your vehicle may need to remain with us or be returned at a later date.
• You accept this risk voluntarily when you place the booking.

Why This Policy Exists

Undisclosed prior tuning causes wasted dyno time and technical complications that are not viable for our business. This policy ensures fair use of resources and allows us to maintain high service standards.
